On the day of Amy’s funeral the housemates entered the big brother house. A few days later we began watching the programme avidly as if Amy were there watching it with us.

On Friday 31 May 2002 we were invited to attend a mass held at Cardinal Newman RC School.

A cherry tree, donated by Roy, Liz and Catrina Mayo, was planted in the grounds of Cardinal Newman RC School in memory of Amy on Monday 24 February 2003. We then donated two benches in memory of Amy to the school.

Canon Daly says mass for Amy every month and also on her birthday and the anniversary of her death. We planted a rose bush in the garden on her birthday and on her anniversary. On Christmas day we lit a special candle.

Amy’s Auntie Pat and cousins Judi and Jane arranged through the International Star Registry for a star to be named in memory of Amy on Saturday 15 March 2003 for what would have been her 17th birthday.

On 15 May 2003 we attended an anniversary mass for Amy in the morning at All Hallows RC Church and in the afternoon we were invited to attend an anniversary mass for Amy at Cardinal Newman RC School. After the mass we spent some time chatting with Amy’s friends and teachers.

Amy’s musical tastes were quite varied. Among many others she liked to listen to Nickelback, Silver Chair, Marilyn Manson, Puddle of Mudd, The Goo Goo Dolls, 3 Doors Down and Ronan Keating. Her very favourite songs were "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls from the film "City of Angels" and "Be Like That" by 3 Doors Down from the film "American Pie 2".

Ronan Keating’s "If Tomorrow Never Comes" and Puddle of Mudd’s "Blurry" became very poignant.
